First set up limited accounts for you children to use. This will prevent them from downloading programs to install upon the computer without administrative access. (Note: don’t give them the admin password!)
Next set up the IE or internet browser to only go to sites that you authorize. This is in the tools area of the browser.
You might consider letting them use the ‘older (and messed up) computer) saving the new (clean) one for you.
No system is 100% fool proof. You also might want to put the computer in a location that anyone that walks by can see what is going on.
You are the parent!
If you are the administrator of the computer and have windows xp. Make them each an account. Downloads should be blocked automatically. Most anti-virus companies have parental control. So for the porn there you go.
well setup limited accounts for your kids so they can’t install limewire and setup a firewall to block the porn and block ports limwire uses so thaty they can’t use it just in case they already have it installed.
You can use a parental control program that will monitor and manage your son’s internet usage. You can set, prohibit and restrict internet access. The software will also remotely notify you if someone is attempting to access the interenet. This software also serves as a filter to block porn, gambling etc.
